WHO THE COURSE IS FOR?
This course will be helpful for anyone interested in making alterations or repairs per the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC). It will be especially helpful for those who are taking their first steps into the NBIC world.
COURSE CONTENTS
This course provides instruction on the organization and use of NBIC Part 3. Included will be an introduction to the National Board (NB) system, objectives and functions of the NB, jurisdictional precedence, and the relationship of the ASME codes to NBIC activities. We will discuss the difference between an alteration and a repair, the requirements for Quality Control Systems, welding, post weld heat treatment, examination, testing, stamping, and certification. There also will be time set aside for general discussion and answers to any questions.
A Certificate of Attendance with professional development hours (PDH) is issued. *The training seminar will be held from 8 AM to 4:00 PM local time unless otherwise noted. Attendees are responsible for their own hotel rooms. If a special room rate is available, we will send you that information. *Times may vary based on class participation.
NOTE: Lunch and Dinner ARE NOT provided unless otherwise noted. Breakfast items with beverages are available in the mornings.
Each attendee will receive a copy of the course material. Please bring your Laptop to class and your NBIC Book. Attire is casual.

Stacey Marks, PE, CWI, AI - With 34 years of distinguished expertise in welding and pressure vessel engineering, Stacey is a Professional Engineer, Certified Welding Inspector, and Authorized Inspector who has made significant contributions across multiple industry domains. Her career spans four years in third-party welding qualifications, 27 years at a global ASME pressure vessel manufacturer, and three years with an Authorized Inspection Agency, during which she held progressive leadership roles including Quality Engineer and Engineering Manager. Since 2013, she has been actively involved in ASME and National Board Codes & Standards Committees, developing comprehensive quality programs under ASME, PED, and ISO standards while earning recognition for her unique ability to translate complex technical requirements into accessible insights.
