Bureau Veritas a world-leader in testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services, today announced it has been recognized by the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) as an approved provider of FSC36 Safe Feed/Safe Food audits.
FSC36 provides the animal food industry with a standard for protecting the safety of feed products and to enhance consumer confidence in the animal feed and pet food supply. The mission of the program is to establish and promote acceptable quality and food safety guidelines for the feed industry and is designed to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of a safe and wholesome feed supply for the growth and care of animals.

With this recognition, Bureau Veritas will expand its food program and certification portfolio to include partnerships within the animal food industry ensuring the safety of food and feed for animals.

FSC36 compliments our ability to assist manufactures in the animal food industry to ensure the safety of their animal feed and pet food products. This recognition also adds to our existing portfolio of audit standards that we provide to the industry. With this new recognition we are able to partner with pet food and animal feed manufacturers that may not be prepared to enter the world of GFSI-benchmarked certification, but are interested in having an unbiased certification at their site to build confidence with their customers and other stakeholders.
