Passive Air Sampling

PASSIVE AIR SAMPLING

Concerned about air quality?

If so, our All-Season Passive Air Sampling System (PASS) units are compact, portable, low maintenance and offer an inexpensive, easy-to-use way to monitor for trace levels of atmospheric pollutants in ambient air. The PASS units are ideal for remote and rural locations – they require no electricity, perform under extreme weather conditions, and can be shipped anywhere in the world. We test the returned samplers for multiple contaminants, including SO2, H2S, O3, NO2, NOX, NH3, 1, 3 -Butadiene and VOCs (Includes BTEX).

Bureau Veritas is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) to ISO/IEC 17025 for tests and matrices required for passive air analysis. Our Passive Air Monitoring group in Edmonton supports petroleum refineries, upgraders and petrochemical facilities with the strict testing, supply, and sampling schedule required by EPA 325A, EPA325B.

Regulations Respecting Reduction in the Release of Volatile Organic Compounds (Petroleum Sector). These regulations would reduce releases of volatile organic compounds from petroleum refineries, upgraders and certain petrochemical facilities in Canada. The proposed regulations were published in the Canada Gazette, Part I, on May 27, 2017. The proposed regulations, along with the accompanying Regulatory Impact Analysis Statement and other supporting documents, are available at https://pollution-waste.canada.ca/environmental-protection-registry/regulations/view?Id=147.
