ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System Lead Auditor (IRCA Certified) - 5 Days

OBJECTIVES

On completing the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose and use of EnMS, making reference to the high-level structure and the framework for EnMS standard
  • Understand the terminology /definitions Effectively Plan for Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits of an organization
  • Apply the knowledge of the ISO 50001:2018 Standard requirements and apply in a real time, simulated audit situation
  • Effectively perform a full 1st, 2nd or 3rd party assessment of Energy Management Systems and generate audit findings
  • Assess the overall conformity (or otherwise) of an EnMS to the audit criteria

WHO THE COURSE IS FOR?

This Lead Auditor training course is intended to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to audit and assess Energy Management Systems established on the basis of ISO 50001:2018 Standard addressing the requirements of Following Standards:

  • ISO 19011-2018
  • ISO 17021-1-2015
  • ISO 50003-2014

COURSE CONTENTS

  • A reinforcement of the understanding of the requirements of ISO 50001:2018
  • A detailed understanding of Terminology used in the ISO 50001:2018 Standard
  • In depth exposure to 3rd party auditing perspective of an Energy Management System implemented by an Organization achieved through a contiguous case study through a series of workshops, exercises role plays

All of these learning is achieved through, pre course learning by each delegate individually and followed by class room training consisting of exercises, workshops, presentations and facilitation by qualified trainers in the subject through open discussions and role plays.

Recommend prior knowledge:

  • FD130 ISO 50001 Foundation (EnMS)
  • Alternatively, Delegates attending this course must have / acquired the following knowledge:
  • Management System
  • The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle
  • The core elements of a management system and the interrelationship between Context, Leadership and Commitment, Energy Policy, Planning, Operation, Performance Evaluation, Management Review and Continual Improvement
  • Energy Management:
  • The principles of fuel combustion, heat transfer and energy flow
  • The relevant sources of energy regulation, guidelines and standards
  • The typical methods and technologies for increasing efficiency
  • Energy measurement units, sources, costs, tariffs and scheduling
  • Energy use data analysis methods
  • Energy performance indicators, monitoring and performance measurement
  • The impact of organisational processes and equipment on energy efficiency
  • Electricity use: motors, drives, lighting, computer
