DOB - Notice to all Building Owners in New York City – Elevator Code Change
The New York City Department of Buildings Elevator Division has updated the elevator inspection requirements. As of January 1, 2022, building owners will be directly responsible for elevator periodic inspections (PVTs), in addition to Category 1 and 5 tests. Inspections will no longer be performed by private elevator agencies on behalf of the DOB. PVTs must be performed by an approved elevator agency/inspector not affiliated with the elevator maintenance provider.
Bureau Veritas – National Elevator Inspection Services (BV-NEIS) is the largest, most experienced, and qualified elevator inspections and testing company in the country. We are an NYC DOB Approved Elevator Inspections Agency with over 40 years of experience and currently responsible for inspecting over 35,000 elevators. Avoid fines and conflicts of interest by working with an expert third-party inspections and testing firm like BV-NEIS.
Ensure your devices operate safely and comply with code by scheduling your PVT, CAT1 and CAT5 today!
