Electrical Product Safety is another compliance component for certain automotive products. The safety of the products and users, intended use conditions, and environment are some of the key elements of safety considerations. There are many global product safety regulations that manufacturers need to fulfill to demonstrate compliance when marketing their products.

Bureau Veritas can help manufacturers to get their products smoothly into the global market. We have the required expertise, accreditations, global network, and tools to navigate our clients from the beginning to the end of the project. When third-party product safety testing and certification are required, which involves a highly experienced independent third party to scrutinize prototype designs or early production samples and screen out significant errors that even the most diligent design houses may miss.

The Bureau Veritas Auburn Hills laboratory is accredited to cover a variety of product categories: Information Technology Equipment (62368 series) is one that a manufacturer needs to pay close attention to when looking to enter the European Market and beyond. Our services include but are not limited to Construction Evaluation, Testing, Report Compilation, Pre-Compliance Reviews, On-Site Standard Training, Factory Inspections, and Certification.

  • Regulatory (EMC & RF)

The Bureau Veritas Auburn Hills laboratory has two ETS Lindgren 3 meter chambers, one for Emissions and one for Immunity.

We can cover all FCC, EN and CISPR component standards. Additionally, we have a Rhode & Schwarz TS8997 for conducted testing that can test up to 40GHz.

In addition to automotive EMC, we can also perform regulatory testing offering the convenience of both OEM and regulatory in a single test environment.

  • GMA & Homologation

    Global Market Access & Homologation

    GMA
Global Market Access (GMA) is determining applicable international regulations and confirming product compliance to those regulations. This process can be complex and intimidating, and the consequences of non-compliance can result in impounding product or denied access exposing manufacturers to potential field related and/or legal issues.

When considering GMA, it impacts almost every aspect of your product – Safety, EMC, Wireless, RoHS, Cybersecurity, and Energy & Environmental.

And as products become more complex, so do the regulations. Bureau Veritas’ dedicated GMA team will be your partner in this tedious process and undertake the burden of everything - from helping you with the applications, submitting applications, collect and review required documentation, and consistent communications/follow-up with foreign approval agencies. The ability to have BV as your GMA champion is what we’re trained for which will allow you to focus on the other aspects of your job.

    Homologation
The Bureau Veritas Auburn Hills laboratory can perform Homologation to ECE R10 for your devices that need to be sold or used in Europe.

Working with Bureau Veritas Certification,  the testing is performed in Auburn Hills and Bureau Veritas Certification reviews and assigns the applicable homologation number upon approval.
