Asbestos is a general term used for a group of six, naturally occurring silicate minerals: Chrysotile, Amosite, Crocidolite, Anthophyllite, Tremolite and Actinolite. Asbestos was used in a wide variety of everyday products, including floor tiles, ceiling tiles, roofing, brakes, siding and insulation of attics, walls and pipes and is commonly found in commercial, industrial and residential structures constructed before the 1990s.

WHEN DO YOU NEED METHOD DEVELOPMENT OR VALIDATION?
Bureau Veritas provides method development and validation services for a wide variety of compounds for which sampling and analysis protocols are not available. The service is applicable for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), proprietary chemicals, industrial chemicals and intermediates, nanomaterials, as well as products in the client development pipeline. Bureau Veritas also offers industrial hygiene analytical method development and validation services specific for surface and air sampling.
The Bureau Veritas industrial hygiene laboratory offers the most advanced instrumentation technologies and more than 80 professional staff, including certified industrial hygienists (CIH), chemists (Ph.D., MS, and BS levels), and microscopists. We have developed more than 500 sampling and analytical methods over the last two decades.
While many of the methods are proprietary, some have been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene (JOEH) and Journal of Oncology Pharmacy Practice. Our methods are developed in accordance with guidelines from OSHA, NIOSH, and US EPA. We can also meet client requirements for US or international product registration support.
Following the applicable guidelines, protocols can be customized to meet your project validation requirements. We also provide validation services on existing methods including method transfer, verification and storage stability. SAMPLING IN CANISTERS USING EPA TO-15
Evacuated canisters, analyzed according to US EPA Method TO-15, are used to measure volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for ambient air, indoor air quality investigations, site investigations, air emissions and off-gas studies. They can capture carbon ranges from about C3 to C14 and can be used to measure a wide range of VOCs including the identification of unknown contaminants. Evacuated canisters are one possible tool to investigate odor complaints. Our staff has extensive expertise in analyzing evacuated canisters, collected from a variety of sampling situations, to provide you with the data to make critical decisions affecting health and the environment.
