Facade Inspection Safety Program (FISP)

Façade Inspection Safety Program (FISP)

New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) specifies that all buildings over 6 stories in height are required to have an inspection of the building’s façade under the Façade Inspection Safety Program (FISP) also known as NYC Local Law 11/98. This inspection is to be performed on a 5 year rolling cycle which repeats after the cycle and subsequent sub-cycles are complete.

Façade inspections must be conducted, witnessed, or supervised by a "Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector" (QEWI) which is a NYS Professional Engineer or Registered Architect approved by the Department of Buildings. Bureau Veritas has the capability to provide FISP inspections across NYC with our skilled inspection staff, all of whom are experts in the requirements of the NYC Department of Building and the NYC Building Code.
